Three women tortured in Indian state of Bihar - India

In the Indian state of Bihar, people branded three women as witches, tore their clothes and cut their hair.

An affected woman, who was being treated at a hospital in Bihar's Muzaffarpur district, said her two sisters had come to the village of Dak Rama, one suspected she was ill, and the three of us went to the local railway line with a male relative. Began to recite mantras.

"We were reciting mantras when about two dozen people from the village came and grabbed them all and tortured them," she added.

The victim's son said the villagers grabbed the three women and beat them all night, tore their clothes, fed them human waste and then cut the women's hair in front of everyone.

When the video of the incident went viral, the police registered a case and arrested nine of the 15 accused and launched an investigation.
