ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has rejected the statement of the lawyer of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav.
According to Foreign Office spokesperson Ayesha Farooqi, Harish Salve, a lawyer for Kulbhushan Jadoo, has spoken against the facts in an online lecture, so his statement is rejected.
The Foreign Office spokesman said that Pakistan had given consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav as per the decision of the International Court of Justice and Pakistan would abide by the decisions of the International Court of Justice.
It may be recalled that on July 17 last year, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) had rejected the Indian plea for the release of Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, who was arrested in Pakistan.
The International Court of Justice (ICJ) had also rejected India's request for Kalbhushan's release and return to India, while Kulbhushan's Indian request to have his sentence commuted by a Pakistani military court was also rejected.
The International Court of Justice had demanded that Pakistan grant consular access to Kulbhushan and reconsider his sentence.
Following this decision, Pakistan had made a sincere offer to India for consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav, but India had turned down the offer.
Clubbhushan Magic Case: When?
On March 3, 2016, Pakistan announced a major victory against the terrorist network in the country and arrested Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav while entering Mashakhil area of Balochistan province of Pakistan from Sarwan border area of Iran. Passports, various documents, maps and sensitive equipment were recovered from the possession.
In the preliminary investigation, the Indian spy admitted that he was an officer of the rank of service commander in the Indian Navy and had been working for the intelligence agency RAW since 2013, while inciting sectarian riots in Pakistan and separating Balochistan and Karachi from Pakistan. It was an important mission.
The Indian spy was working in Chabahar as a businessman with a Muslim identity and also came to Karachi in 2003 and 2004, while his network was also involved in several terrorist incidents in Balochistan and Karachi.
On March 24, 2016, Pakistan released the results of the preliminary investigation to the media. Formally protested On the same day, Pakistan also briefed the P5 and the European Union on the issue of Clubbhushan Jadoo.
The video of the confessional statement of Kulbhushan Jadhav was released on March 29, 2016. The initial FIR was registered in the CTD Quetta on April 8, 2016 after which a formal investigation was launched.
The Indian spy was interrogated from May 2, 2016 to May 22, 2016, while the JIT was formed on July 12, 2016.
On July 22, 2016, Clubbhushan Jadhav recorded his confession before a magistrate. On September 6, 2016, in the light of the confessional statement before the Magistrate of Clubbhushan, a second FIR was registered in CTD Quetta against 15 persons who assisted him.
On September 21, 2016, proceedings were initiated in the Military Court against Clubbhushan Jadhav. Evidence was recorded on September 24, followed by more than three hearings, the fourth hearing on February 12, 2017.
On January 23, 2017, Pakistan requested the assistance of the Government of India for the investigation into the Clubbhushan case.
On March 21, 2017, Pakistan reiterated its support for the Indian investigation and clarified that the exchange of information was necessary for consular access to Kulbhushan Jadhav.
On April 10, 2017, a military court sentenced Kulbhushan Jadhav to death for his involvement in terrorist activities in Pakistan, which was upheld by Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa.
Execution of Kulbhushan's sentence has been stayed due to India taking the matter to the International Court of Justice.
Pakistan, on the basis of humanitarian sympathy, met the wife and mother of Kulbhushan Jadoo on December 25, 2017, in which Kulbhushan confessed to spying in front of his mother and wife.
