Iran sentences French national to six years in prison for national security

Iran has sentenced Fariba Adilkha, a member of a French-Iranian educational institution, to six years in prison on national security charges.

According to the Dawn newspaper, the French government protested the decision and demanded her immediate release.

Fariba Adilkhah's lawyer Saeed Dhaqan said the court had sentenced him to six years in prison.

He asserted that his confession had been obtained through torture and that his confession had been obtained through torture. He had been sentenced to life in prison for plotting against Iran's national security.

Saeed Dhaqan said he would file an appeal against the sentence. The French Foreign Ministry said there were political motives behind Fariba Adilkha's sentencing.

The Revolutionary Guards have arrested dozens of dual nationals in recent years, most of them on espionage charges.
