As the Tablighi Jamaat's religious program in India has led to an increase in Code 19 figures, videos of discrimination and violence against Muslims have surfaced.
Numerous false and old videos are constantly spreading the word that Muslims are spreading corona 'through saliva'. Many videos are appealing to Muslim peddlers not to buy fruits and vegetables. There have also been some videos of Muslims being attacked and beaten.
The roots of this hatred are deepening day by day and now a new video in this regard has gone viral on social media.
It is claimed that some people attacked a mosque in Gorakhpur's Sekri Ganj area after it was called to prayer. The Muslim holy book, the Qur'an, can be seen on the floor in a one-minute, 50-second video. Then a boy says that after the call to prayer, some people entered the mosque and beat him.
What is the whole matter?
According The BBC they tried to find out the full story of this video.
As the video mentions the Sekri Ganj area of Gorakhpur, we contacted some local journalists from Sekri Ganj and Gorakhpur. Here we are informed that such an incident has taken place in Bin Kata village of this area.
Then we reached the person in the video whose name is Sono.
Sonu told the BBC: 'The call to prayer was given at 1.25pm on Sunday for the noon prayers. As soon as the call to prayer ended, two persons came to offer prayers as per the order. Just then three people came and started abusing us. They started asking why you are giving the call to prayer. You people are not allowed to do this. Saying this, he entered the mosque and tore up the Qur'an and threw it away. As the quarrel escalated, they left and within five minutes a crowd of 25 people arrived with sticks in their hands. They beat me, they beat my brothers. When my father came to the rescue, he was severely beaten.
Why the path of reconciliation?
Sono's father, 65-year-old Azmat Ali, was seriously injured in the beating. He has a fracture in his right leg and his head has ruptured in three places.
But in this case, Sonu and his family have reconciled with the attackers. After this incident, why did they take the path of reconciliation by not registering an FIR?
In response to this question, Sonu says, "There are about 100 houses of Muslims in this village, but most of the Muslims live on the north side of the village and only four Muslim families live on the south side." The rest of us are completely surrounded by the Thakurs (a caste of Hindus). If we don't reconcile and if something happens to us tomorrow, the rest of our religion and the police will come later, but we would have to suffer the consequences of what happened.
'It's hard to live here without peace'
Reconciliation between the two sides has taken place in front of the police and the village head.
When we spoke to the police administration, they called it a minor incident and asked us not to prolong it.
Jatri Shankar, SO of Sikri Ganj, told the BBC that the altercation took place during the call to prayer in which one person was injured by Muslims. No FIR registered. All is well, we have gone and seen. The 17-18 year old boy felt that people would gather in the mosque so there was a quarrel among them.
Contrary to police claims, Sonu told us that one of the assailants was 35 years old and two were about 25 years old.
However, the police did not take any action in the matter as the parties reconciled.
