English player Ben Stokes has made a shocking revelation that India deliberately lost against England in the World Cup 2019 and blocked Pakistan's way to reach the semi-finals.
Ben Stokes has revealed in his book that India did not want to face Pakistan in the World Cup semi-finals, he was considering New Zealand as an easy target for him which dusted him off in the semi-finals.
World Cup hero Ben Stokes also questioned the batting of the Indian team and said that the way India did not feel like batting, they wanted to win the match, first Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and later Dhoni's batting surprised him.
India's victory in the World Cup 2012 match in Birmingham could have paved the way for Pakistan to reach the semi-finals, but India lost the match by 31 runs to England. He could make only 306 runs on the wicket.
English all-rounder Ben Stokes has questioned India's strategy in the match, especially the batting of Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav.
The English all-rounder says that both, especially MS Dhoni, preferred to stay on the wicket instead of trying to win in the last 10 overs and were content with singles instead of hitting six fours.
According to Stokes, India could have won the match, requiring 112 runs in the last 11 overs, but the Indian team could only score 81 runs.
He also criticized the batting strategy of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli and said that both of them did not appear to be in a mood to put pressure on us and only spent time on the wicket which benefited England.
Following the revelations of Ben Stokes, the same question has arisen once again whether India deliberately lost the match to knock Pakistan out. If India had won this match, Pakistan would have easily reached the top four by defeating Bangladesh.
